But that was a wild and wacky thing to do, and maybe a bit cruel to do, but we were English in Los Angeles making our third or fourth music video, and if we'd come away having paid Ronnie extra money, that would have crashed our budget. Ronnie Spector appeared in the video, mostly in silhouette form, but a financial dispute nearly kept her out of it. The video was directed by Nick Morris, who helmed popular clips for Europe ("The Final Countdown") and Paul Young ("Everytime You Go Away"). We've been spoiled by some comedies lately that have you laughing when you enter til you leave, and the newest movies that are coming out are trying to replicate that and usually fail by going way over the top. The song's chorus interpolates the Ronettes' 1963 hit "Be My Baby", with original vocalist Ronnie Spector providing uncredited vocals and reprising her role. Songwriting credit was given to Mike Leeson, Peter Vale, Ellie Greenwich, Phil Spector and Jeff Barry. Padraig has been writing about film online since 2012, when a friend asked if he'd like to contribute the occasional review or feature to their site. A part-time hobby soon blossomed into a career when he discovered he really loved writing about movies, TV and video games; he even had a little bit of talent for it.

I never even heard the Eddie Money album in it's entirety, how is it? Ronnie Spector was married to Phil Spector, who is considered quite important inthe history of pop music production. Some of his ideas of sound come through here of course.

In the meantime, Topher Grace went on to star in movies like Valentine's Day and Predators. Young Americans eventually became Take Me Home Tonight, named after the Eddie Money song of the same name. Sadly, despite a great cast and retro tone it wasn't greeted with warm reviews and was a box-office dud.

Take Me Home Tonight [Original Soundtrack] Album Information

This accounts for Venom's lackluster treatment in the sequel, with Topher Grace feeling miscast in the role. The soundtrack for director Michael Dowse's retro '80s comedy Take Me Home Tonight is stocked with an appropriately retro playlist of new wave, pop, hair metal, and rap classics (where's Eddie Money?). Take Me Home Tonight is a teen comedy set in the 1980s starring Topher Grace, and here's every song from it's very retro soundtrack. Matt confesses that he doesn't work at Goldman Sachs. Barry chastises Matt for not trying to have just one night of enjoyment and offers him a line of cocaine while driving.

Spector's face is not completely revealed until about three-quarters of the way through the video. Alongside its album, "Take Me Home Tonight" helped revive Money's career after a period of declining sales. It also allowed Spector to resume her touring/recording career after several years of retirement. Knowing Tori has left her car at the party, Matt and Barry go back, where bets are being placed on who will "ride the ball", a giant, steel sphere that someone rides inside as it's rolled down a hill. On November 22, 1986, Eddie Money, with Ronnie Spector, performed "Take Me Home Tonight" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'... At first, this was going to be a duet with Martha Davis, lead singer of The Motels. Money wanted Spector ("the real thing") on the song, so he called her to ask, telling her, "This is a tribute to you. The song is all about you." With this song, Ronnie Spector returned to the spotlight for the first time in two decades.

It's the only genuine gospel song to become a pop hit. I was a hardcore punk and I had to keep it secret that I liked this so much. The echo-ey vocals and the keys it was in was just haunting to me. I liked it so much I even bought Ronnie's album "Unfinished Business" at the same time this came out. The hit was "Who Can Sleep?" which was similar to this. I didn't like the rest of her album though, and I was sure I would.

The video was directed by Nick Morris and shot entirely in black and white at the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada. It opens with Money alone with a metal ladder and a folding chair on an otherwise empty stage. He sings and plays an alto saxophone to an absent audience, while Ronnie Spector is seen in a make-up room and then walking through a backstage hallway to the arena floor during cutaways.

Barry rushes to the scene and walks with Matt back to the party, meeting up with Wendy and Tori, who are elated to find him alive. Matt apologizes to Tori, and she forgives him, then gives him her phone number. All who are still there 'whoop' it up at Matt's successful return. One of the most dynamic bass player/songwriters of his time, Chris is the only member of Yes who has been with the band since they formed in 1968. This song is a timeless clasic that many in the younger generation are becoming hip to. My 15 year old son told me he heard this song on the radio and it reminded him of me.
